AIR CARGO SERVICE EXPLANATION

a) Commodities handled and Restrictions upon service:

Consorcio Transmir Air Cargo transports general cargo, subject to the following restrictions:

  • No Service shall be offered in transportation of any shipment which due to size and weight cannot be accommodated at the aircraft.
  • No transportation of cargo subject to regulations by the International Airports Travel Authority (IATA) or International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) service NOT provided by Consorcio Transmir Air Cargo.

b) Refusal of Unsafe Shipment:

Consorcio Transmir Air Cargo reserves every right to refuse any shipment which is dangerous, liable to damage other cargo, or is not packed to standard.

c) Liability for additional charges:

The carrier/shipper/forwarder shall be liable for any additional expenses incurred in transportation, warehousing, or safe-keeping of a shipment.

d) Interruption of Service:

Consorcio Transmir Air Cargo shall not be liable for loss, damage, injury, delay, or non-delivery due to factors beyond its control, including government regulations, mechanical difficulties, weather conditions, and acts of God.

e) Payment of Charges:

All charges MUST be paid in full by the shipper unless otherwise agreed upon prior to shipment. Payment is due within seven (7) days of receipt of the invoice.

f) Operational Factors:

  • All cargo is accommodated on a space-available basis.
  • Consorcio Transmir Air Cargo reserves the right to open and inspect cargo.
  • Equipment must be returned on time to avoid demurrage charges per IATA guidelines.

g) International Service:

The shipper/forwarder is responsible for compliance with all applicable customs, import & export laws, and government regulations.

h) Rates:

  • Rates apply to pre-paid shipments only.
  • Dimensional weight is calculated per IATA standards.
  • Rates are subject to change without notice.
  • Perishable rates are 150% of reserved rates.
  • Dangerous goods rates are 125% of applicable rates.

j) Consorcio Transmir Air Cargo Claim process:

Claims must be made in writing for the following:

  • Visible damage – within 14 days of receipt.
  • Other damage – within 14 days of receipt.
  • Delay – within 21 days of goods being placed at disposal.
  • Non-delivery – within 120 days from the issue of the Air Waybill.

k) Damaged Cargo:

Required documentation for a claim includes:

  • Copy of Master and House Air Waybill(s).
  • Survey or damage report.
  • Photographs of damage.
  • Itemized vendor invoice.
  • Repair invoices if applicable.
  • Receipt from CFS or cargo company confirming damage upon receipt.
  • Letter stating the claim amount and details.
